I was born and brought up with a lot of love in a small village in this small town in 1950. It became a Sub-division when I passed high-school and became a District after my graduation. It has made tremandous progress but what it lacks is the Railway line which doesn't pass anywhere near the township.People and places around which my life revolves in Jagatsinghpur are depicted in this blog.
They are near-contemporaries of mine in my village Chandura being junior to me by some years. because of my alinietion I find it increasingly difficult to place the young and very young people of my village.
These people are sitting in fron of the village temple on a 'Pindi" which is likely to be dismantled soon when the adjoining road is broadened under Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojna.
Naba Bhai is a couple of years senior and has been a regular feature on my village road for the last 4 decades. He had a Govt. job in Jagatsinghpur and used Chandura Canal Road to travel to job and come back. He loved flashy cycles and was one of the few to use a moped in our area nearly two decades ago. he was one of the persons who used to return back to his native place in Patenigaon the last almost at or after 10 PM evertday. Has retired for nearly 8 years Naba Bhai remains as buoyant and travels the same way but as age is catching up, he prefers to return back from the market before the sun set.
